Achensee

Achensee short description

brief description

Mountain lake between the imposing panoramas of the Karwendel and Rofan mountains. Visibility in summer 10-15m in winter to over 25. Temperatures 20 degrees in summer with thermocline at 25 meters.

Diving permission is obligatory. There is a diving ban between 31.10. and 30.04.

To reach from Munich in 2h and represents the largest lake of Austria. With 169 meters it is on place 3 of the deepest lakes of Austria. However, there are numerous dive sites with shallower depths that are suitable for a dive. I describe 3 of a total of 15 dive sites

Blindsee short description

Natural mountain lake in Tyrol at 1093 m a.s.l. maximum depth 25 meters just below the Zugspitze, Germany’s highest mountain. Embedded in a wonderful alpine panorama.

Sunken forest to 20 meters deep Since 1984, visibility up to 30 meters. For mountain lakes at this altitude extremely much fish (pikeperch, trout, perch, carp) temperatures in summer down to -5 meters approx. 24 from -15 max. 7.

2 possible tours at the same entrance. Very mystical lots of fish one of the best lakes in this area.

Plansee short description

To reach from Munich in 1h. Very beautiful lake with beautiful visibility. Attractions like sunken carriages, hay sledges and a sailing boat are scattered here. With luck you can also find the rare crayfish.

Carriages and sledges lie in various depths that were forgotten on the closed ice cover a long time ago and collapsed in spring.

Something hidden lies the wreck of a catamaran.

Walchensee

Walchensee short description

brief description

German mountain lake 75km south of Munich with 190 meters deep and 16.5 km² at 800 meters altitude. The originally natural lake has served as a reservoir for the Walchensee power plant since 1924.

Very nice steep wall up to 30 meters. At the end of the wall there is a fallen car wreck followed by a fallen tree. The visibility in summer on the first 20 meters partly under 2 meters, on 30 meters very dark and cold.
